One Less Thing To Worry About

Good morning! It's been a long time since I've posted, and those who don't just stalk me here are finding out through facebook (yes, we are ALL addicted) that I'm going through quite a few life changes in the last 2.75 months. I'm going to try to give you the shortest version I can, it will still be a considerable read. WARNING, I don't suggest that you read this if you cry readily, this one is gonna be a tough one for me, so sorry in advance for the emotional rollercoaster. The real change began right around the last post. It was Jason's 26th birthday on the 24th of June, and he was acting strange. (Well, stranger than normal). On the 30th, we broke up. Art is for.... ME! Last weekend, Jason and I went to Shahryar's wedding in Pittsburgh, and had a week at home with his family hanging out. FUN! Shahryar had shoes like ALADDIN! Hehehehehe! =) This week, was the first week of my internship at career services! OMG, I LOVE IT! I will be managing one of their twitter and facebook pages, keeping our tweets current with opportunities we see... So.... I'm seeing a chiropractor! I got to look at my xrays, and my back is MESSED UP. No worries though, I'm feeling better already. All that cracking and stretching works! Way less pain than I've had in years. Got a free massage today too!! =) Erika, Jason's cousin, has been staying with us, going to the lab and working. It's been nice to have another girl around. =) Last night we got bubble tea! Yum! I had a really hectic week last week with closing the buildings, but we scraped out alive and now it's eerily quiet around here. This week, it's only wednesday and I've managed to cook and clean up in the kitchen before they step foot in the door each night. It's nice to have evenings free again and spend some quality time with them. My mom is going to be in for Memorial Weekend, and then next week Jason and I are heading to MI to visit with his family and then go to Shayrar's wedding in Pittsburgh. So, as you can see, my blog got a makeover! Much more fun, plus then you can just pick whatever picture looks good to you and find out what's inside. LOL. It's like a little Danielle rant PRESENT! Yay! Relay over, I raised $625 THANK YOU! I got to walk for a bit with the president of the university and the VP for my division. Very cool. The silent lap made me bawl. They played "If I Die Young" by The Band Perry. I guess some people interpret this song as morbid. I however, with my experience pull something very different from it... I played it over and over all last summer. Meaning of the song This weekend was my last "Duty" weekend of the semester, THANKYOU. I slept 7 hours in 2 days, that is not good for someone who's used to getting between 8-10 per night. I might be a little goofy this week, cross your fingers for me. RELAY FOR LIFE is going on this Saturday, I'm excited!! I always like to see all of our students get motivated and raise money for the cause. Our goal as a school is always $100,000. Last year we raised $86,000. We've raised over $500,000 in the 7 years we've hosted Relay! That's very exciting! So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE... oh, did I say PLEASE? So, it's been awhile.... sorry about that. Between Hawaii and then going home, going to DC, and the madhouse that will be the last 8 weeks of the semester. I'm coming up for air briefly to think. It's 78 degrees in March, and it's weirding me out besides being WONDERFUL. I want to sit outside and read a good book and collect a "real tan" instead of the oompa loompa shade my boss makes fun of me for if I go "fake bake" too much. All this travel has given me a taste of what a non-reslife life could look like. I want what a coworker of mine calls a "big kid" job. I've applied, I'm waiting. I don't even know if I want to work anymore either, yup, that's how disenfranchised I'm feeling these days about what I do. I love my students, the day to day is good, like I don't dread going in in the morning or anything, but when I look ahead, I get depressed, because I don't want to be doing this AGAIN starting next fall...

So, going to try to sum up 7 days of fun in one post... (insert long dramatic deep breath here) Day 1, woke up to gorgeous landscape, goofed off by the pool, drove all along the coastline visiting beaches, had REALLY good sushi, (by really good, I mean that Jason denounced our favorite Sushi spot at home) and finished up the night with some pretty tasty dessert! Day Two: We took pictures of chickens because they're EVERYWHERE. Yes, feral chickens, roaming around with pigeons, at the store, in the parking lot, next to the beach, at the pool, etc. Drove the beach line again, stopped at a tunnel we skipped the first day, which included a beach with mango trees. Jason and Brett tried to see their worth as "cave men" by trying to knock down mangos, which took more tries than it should have only to find that they couldn't open the mango or coconuts when they got them.
