AND Another...

Updates: I have a scan on 2-2-2012! Cross your fingers for me! I might be done with chemo!! I am going to see Rascal Flatts tonight! Whoop! First concert since college... =) Tomorrow will be a year since I found out I had cancer. 1-27! I'm spending it.... ON DUTY! Let's hope the students are kind to me! Yeah, RIGHT. It's the weekend. This video is REALLY my job, pay attention to the "Director on Duty", that's what it's like. I also have caught myself saying "This is going to be FUN" in the exact same way. The only thing missing is "Other duties as assigned" Congrats to Kellen, he's getting a lot of fame for his sparkling sense of humor. He deserves some attention, he really is FUNNY. (Proof above) So, fun on the horizon, as well as work, and another milestone. I've been beating Cancer for a YEAR. Take that! One less thing to worry about!

Another one!

A Year ago today, at this particular date and time, someone was operating on my Brain! WHOA! Take that and chew on it! Makes everything else today seem like a breeze. Like, I could be long dead by now, but nope, I'm here, at work, completely me (with a lumpy side of my head). Side note, though DO NOT GET TOO EXCITED: I applied for a job at UMich today. It would be a 3 step up promotion, new department, and twice my salary, so I doubt they'll consider me, BUT it's fun to try! My head is NOT open today, and there are STILL JOBS in Michigan! Who would have thought?!?! One less thing to worry about! =)

Er, Happy? Anniversary?!?!

So, I made it through Saturday. I catered 3 meals, a full day of training and a presentation. The saddest thing about yesterday is all the leftover subs we tossed because there is no room in the fridge for 6 foot subs. Just now I watched an episode on scrubs that always made me cry, and it's the first time I've seen it in awhile and so I felt compelled to come here immediately after. It's called "My Occurence" on Season 1. It's about a patient who JD likes who gets diagnosed with Leukemia. Work wasn't the only thing yesterday that I had to get through. Yesterday was the year anniversary of the phonecall that changed my life forever. Friday January 14th, 2011 at 10:30ish AM, I was told I have a massive brain tumor. As January 14th this year approached, I got a little more cognizant of the landmark. I've lived a year as a brain tumor survivor. Last year, I spent that day crying and telling people at work and trying to process my big news ...

What's YOUR Song?

Since I've returned home and gotten back into my "real" life, I've done pretty good on my resolutions.... =) I had a great drive back to Albany, despite starting that morning with my first seizure in almost 5 months. (bummer!) I felt icky the last few days after chemo, it was harder to get past the nausea, BUT, yesterday, I got over the hump. I felt so good I went out and got a BIG frappuchino and a carwash! Then, last night it snowed over my pretty clean car with its pretty fixed windshield with NO cracks! Oh well! I did a couple nice things for Jason, including DISHES, and I packed his lunch, made his coffee and breakfast this morning. Made me feel good to take care of my honey along with feeling well and able to get in the kitchen and smell FOOD and not be compelled to expel my internal organs. =)  At work, I accomplished a lot today, as for the previous couple of days, some hitches, but I expected a slow start. Today I got funding, shopped for a ton of suppl...

Start with the end in mind!

So, What's up 2012?! Three, according to those who follow numerology, is my lucky birth number, so on the 3rd day of the the new year I will deliver, as promised, resolutions. AKA, my many many good intentions for the year ahead! New Years Resolutions 2012 Lose Weight, no amount designated, just looking healthy and happy Take Dance Lessons Learn Guitar, no really, do it already! Revisit Piano and Flute (brush up) Do Art or Crafty things once a week, NOT work related but for pleasure ONLY. Maybe check out an art room Sing more Do more things for Jason, like bring him gifts, cook dinner, pester him less... =) Expand my ITunes library and organize it Start my Bucket List (Hawaii and some more could be travel, could be tasks, whatever) Talk to both parents and Brett at least once a week Grow professionally (work on my bad work habits: staying late, talking too much, personalizing others not doing their part) Start ACTUALLY reading all those books I "want" to ...
